Beedie Group Reflection

On April 26th, my class went on a educational field trip to the Beedie Group development site. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it but from what my peers have told me it was fantastic. They got to see one of the buildings that being completed. I think it would have been a very interesting experience though. Just to know that you made something out of something. Like if you made a door really you just made a wooden rectangle. I just thought that was interesting.

Here’s a link to my friends blogs that have more info on the visit: Holly, Kaden, and Genesis.

Beedie Group Field Trip Reflection

My class had a special opertunity to go to one of the Beedie Group’s construction sites. We got to see one of the buildings that was almost complete.

We learned that they had to make the floor of the building completly flat. If there was a spot on the floor that was off, the difference would only be the thickness of half a piece of paper! I also learned that they have to use a speicial sand procedure to wiegh and pack down the ground. They had to create the exact wieght of the building that they were going to build using the sand so that in the future the ground can hold up the building.

After we were finished going around the construction site we went to one of the Beedie Group’s office building’s and got free pizza! Overall I had a good time and learned more about construction.

Beedie Group tour reaction

These titles are getting really repetitive, aren’t they? Anyway, this blog post is dedicated to the Beedie Group field trip that we had. If you don’t know, Beedie Group is a company that works towards making all sorts of buildings, and we had a field trip there, were we got to go on a bus trip and a guy was talking about how the making of the building goes. We got to see how a bunch of cement walls were being put up by a crane and lifted into position, with a bunch of workers around it steadying it. We also learned that before building a building, you must cement the area so its flat, which takes around 12-18 months. After that, we went to the Beedie Group building, were we got to explore the many parts of the building, and we even got to enter Mr. Beedie’s office! There we saw all kinds of cool stuff, like a golden helmet with a bunch of little carvings on it, a real pirate sword, a bunch of other swords, a boat that was made of wood, and lots of other cool stuff. And at the end of the day we got to eat pizza! Needles to say, it was a good day, and a fun one, too.

Beedie Group Reflection

A while ago, my class got to go to a trip with the Beedie Group. The Beedie Group is a construction company. We first got to go in a bus with Andrew, a construction worker. Andrew showed us all about the process of building. I think he really knew what he was talking about. Andrew was with the company for a long time. His story also influenced me to think more about being a construction worker in a later age.

Next we went to the office of the Beedie Group. We met Mr. Beedie, the owner of the Beedie group! I think he was also very inspirational. He really worked hard for his company. We looked around the office and I saw some interesting things. There was the regular offices, computer room, and many other places.I really liked the computer room. After we we looked around they treated us to pizza! Not to make you hungry but the pizza was delicious! The tasty, cheesy cheese, the crispy, crunchy crust, and everything else in the pizza was amazing.

The Beedie Group gave us an amazing experience.

The Beedie place was nice it was really modern and I love modern places. Trip was really nice because I could see the workers working to build a house. The people there at Beedie group were really nice and it looked like they worked really hard.
