Characters’ learning

This great book has been helping us think (& I hope learn) about others and ourselves. If you haven’t read the book and want to avoid any spoilers, let this be your spoiler alert.

I’m wondering what you think some of the characters in the book learned over the course of the story. (Of course, I’m even more interested in WHY you think so.) Share your thoughts with a comment.

Discussion

In the past, I’ve kept a blog on Classblogmeister along with student blogs there for discussion. Since this WordPress site has become the hub of our online space, trying to host discussion on another site makes it seem too separate (even if it is only a click away). I’m hoping this space will help us open our discussions and share some of our thinking. If it works well, we will see our ideas develop, get challenged, & change as we explore, make mistakes, and think some more.

We’ll be practising sharing thoughtful, respectful ideas and opinions, just as we would in class. If other readers have similar thoughts to add to our discussion, please join us by adding your comments.

We are an intermediate classroom in Burnaby, BC, Canada.  We will use this place to connect with each other, with family members, and with other readers interested in our work.  Check back with us to see our blogs and other work as we learn how to use these tools in our learning.   Our Class page is linked to all of our active places and will help you find our work.  You can also follow us on twitter where we will post tidbits of the daily goings on in our class.Follow growingawarenes on Twitter

A previous class decided to become supporters of Pennies for Peace after reading Greg Mortenson’s Three Cups of Tea, which helped raise our awareness of our good fortune and our desire to make a difference in our world.
