Why Banishing Cole was a good idea.
I think bashing Cole was a good idea because,
1. Cole is going to be in isolation so he has no one to talk to this is good because he has time to think.
2. No one can be able to help him on the island so he will have to rely mainly on himself for surviving.
3. Since he will have time to think he will have time to relax a bit and “roll away his anger”
Those are 3 things on why banishing Cole was a good idea.

“What do you do when you can only see the left end of the stick?”
That was the question we were asked during our recent novel study time.
The “left end of the stick” refers to the negative feelings and actions in you. In more simple terms, it’s when you are feeling angry, outraged, sad, the more blue kinds of feelings.
Since I was little, I’ve gone through a lot of therapy. Specifically because sometimes, I could only seem to see the left end of the stick. Thanks to therapy and counselling, I have a lot of different ways I can see more of the right end of the stick, and less of the left end.
Some of my favourites would include:
Dance– the smooth rhythm of dancing is very soothing for me.
Reading– by diving into a book, I escape my reality and go into somebody else’s.
Music– Usually, if I need to cry, I’ll listen to a sad song. If I’m happy, I’ll listen to something more upbeat.
Gratitude Journal– This is something my mum suggested to me, by keeping a gratitude journal, it helps you focus on more of the positive things and less of the negative.
Of course, I have more. But these are the most effective for me.
Leave a comment about what you do when you can only see the left end of the stick.
Bye! 😉 🙂

Today is International Women’s Day. Every morning, my teacher us a sentence starter for morning circle.
Today’s starter was “On International Women’s Day…” There were lots of interesting ideas, but there was one that stood out to me, “On International Women’s Day we have to be nice to women.”
That brought a couple thoughts to my mind such as:
~That person made it sound like we have to be nice to women, as if it’s some sort of punishment.
~We should only be nice to women on a particular day?
But when I think about Women’s Day, I think about all the women that have changed the world, women who are important to me, etc.
So I leave you with some examples of important women who have changed the world:
Malala Yousafzai- Fought for girls education and women’s rights
Florence Nightingale- First female war-hero nurse
Rosa Parks- Refused to give up her seat to a white person
Michelle Obama- Fought for girls education and women’s rights
Joan of Arc- Martyr and military leader
Isabella of Castile- The queen of Castile in the 15th century.
Bessie Coleman- Civil aviator
Joan Robinson- Economist
Dowager Empress CIXI of china
We have read further in Touching Spirit Bear and we have learned a lesson. Edwin said ” try to get rid of the left end of the stick.” ” Why is the left end of the stick still there?” We have been reading about how the left end of the stick cannot be broken. Edwin also said that the pond they were sitting in gave them a choice to be either happy or angry. We have been given the question What do you do when you can only see the left end of the stick?
I usually just relax and do something that takes my anger off of my mind. Relaxing and doing something else is how I take away my anger.
We have read more further into Touching Spirit Bear and we have come across a part where they begin to talk about the left end of the stick the left end of the stick being your anger than we come across the question what do you do when you can only see the left end of the stick?
What I do when I can only see the left end of the stick is what lots of people would normally do, try to calm myself down most of the time I just read because it is really effective.
That is what I do when i can only seem to see the left end of the stick.
