Your poem tells a nice short story. Take a very close look at line 1 and line 3. Say each one out loud. Listen to the rhythm, because you have got it exactly right in these two lines.

Every line in a Limerick needs to have that weatk STRONG weak pattern. It is tricky, but to me that’s what makes writing interesting – playing with the words & experimenting to find what works.
