Banishing Cole was a good idea.Because sending Cole to a remote island will give him time to think about what he has done so that he can repent for acting so violent. It might also teach Cole to control his temper. It may even teach him to respect other people, animals, and not to take things for granted.  As Cole said on page 56 that:                 “It’s not like i can’t take care of myself”. ” It’s totally up to you”. Said Garvey. One more reason is that after Cole’one year of banishment is done and he has not changed at all he will be sent to jail. In conclusion i think banishing Cole was a good idea and that he will learn something.
