AP Research 2021-2022 Important Timelines:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

September 10-January 31st \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u2013Scaffold important skills required to write a successful Research Paper.<\/p>\n

November 1st<\/i><\/b>\u00a0\u2013Finalize Research Question.<\/p>\n

November 15th<\/sup> <\/em><\/strong>–\u00a0 Inquiry Proposal and Internal Review Board proposal (if needed) forms due.<\/p>\n

November 19th<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Sign up for Check-In #1<\/p>\n

November 29th-December 3rd\u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>– Check In #1 – Discuss Research Question, Literature Review and Introduction. Literature Review should include sources to help support or add to your own research as well as present different perspectives to your research (original hypothesis). Minimum 7 to 10 sources. Overview of data collection and process and future direction. Must have 300\/500 words completed.<\/u><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

BEGIN AND COMPLETE RESEARCH\/DATA COLLECTION<\/p>\n

January 14, 2021 – Literature Review completed and submitted via PREP.<\/p>\n

January 24th-28th\u2013 <\/em><\/strong><\/span>Sign-In for Check-In #2 will take place sometime in January. Check your emails regularly for information regarding this.\u00a0<\/span>Complete minimum of 2000-2500 words. Must include an Introduction (Problem Statement and Literature Reviews) <\/em>as well as Method, Process, or Approach.<\/em><\/strong> Reviews of previous work in the field, synthesize information from a range of perspectives related to the research question and identifies a gap in the<\/u> current field of knowledge.<\/u><\/p>\n

January 31st- Feburary 5th\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong>-Check In #2-With teacher\/consultant. Review Introduction of Research Paper as well as Data Collection (results) from Research. Complete minimum 2000-2500 words<\/u>. Must include<\/strong> an Introduction and<\/strong> Method, Process, or Approach, Results and Findings<\/strong>. Explain and provide justification for the chosen method, process or approach. Present the findings, evidence, results or product.<\/span><\/p>\n


\n<\/em><\/strong>Conduct PEER-REVIEW ASSIGNMENT <\/em><\/strong>Complete minimum 3000-3500 words. Must include an<\/strong> Introduction as well as Methods, Process or Approach, Results and Findings, Analysis and\/or Evaluation<\/strong>. Interpret results, explore connections to original research question and discuss the implications \/limitations of the research. <\/span><\/p>\n

March 8th-12th – Sign in for Check -In #3.<\/span><\/p>\n

March 28th-31st –\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Check \u2013In #3 -With teacher\/consultant. Read and Review rough copy of final research paper.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

April 4th-8th<\/strong><\/em> – class will meet during X block for POD “dry-run”.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

April 19th-29th<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>– Presentation and Oral Defense<\/span>. Three per day, afternoons only. Sign up will take place a few weeks beforehand. Teacher will submit assesment to AP Digital Portfolio.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

May 2nd, 2022 before 8:59 pm<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/span>– Submit Final Research Paper\u00a0 to AP Digital Portfolio<\/span>. 4000 -5000 words due. Must include an Introduction, Method Approach, Results and Findings, Analyses and Evaluation, Conclusion, Future Directions and Bibliography. <\/strong>Reflect on the process and how it can impact the field and discuss possible next steps. UPLOAD FINAL PAPER IN AP PORTAL!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
