We have been busy learning in our classroom! Here are some important reminders and updates about upcoming assessments and projects.

Math Test – Monday, October 26th

Students will be writing a Patterns and Algebra math test on Monday.

To prepare, students should review the following pages in their math booklets:

• Grade 5: Pages 1–24
• Grade 6: Pages 1–20

Please take some time to review the concepts and practise any areas that you find challenging.

French Tests – Sign and Return

Students received their French tests today.

Please remember to:

• Correct any errors on your test.
• Have a parent or guardian review and sign your test.
• Return your signed test tomorrow, Thursday, October 22nd.

World Explorer – Six-Week Inquiry Project

We have officially started our World Explorer Inquiry Project!

Over the next six weeks, students will become world explorers as they research a country of their choice. Using guided research questions, students will investigate their country’s geography, culture, traditions, landmarks, and other interesting facts.

Throughout this project, students will practise important skills, including:

• Researching and finding reliable information
• Reading for understanding and identifying important details
• Writing information in their own words
• Organizing and presenting information
• Creating a PowerPoint presentation

At the end of the project, students will share their learning by presenting their PowerPoint to the class.

Important Dates:

• Thursday, November 19th: Completed projects are due.
• Monday, November 23rd: Class presentations begin.

Students will have regular class time to work on their research and presentations. Remember to use your time wisely, stay organized, and have fun discovering new things about our world!
