Read the labels on your groceries and do letter hunts.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Draw a big, beautiful picture each day. Big meaning it fills the page.\u00a0 Beautiful means it is drawn in pencil and coloured with at least 5 colours.\u00a0 The picture tells a story. Ask your child to tell you what their picture is about.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Write each day. Help your child label parts of their picture, asking them which letters or sounds they know and practice phonetically writing down what they say.\u00a0 It is not important that they be correct.\u00a0 It is important that they try.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Measure your family! Compare and contrast who is tallest?\u00a0 Who is shortest?\u00a0 Draw a picture and label it with the measurements.\u00a0 \u00a0Measure your height, size of your feet, size of your hands, your head circumference, your chest, your waist, etc.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Measure the weight of different household objects \u2013 put 2 objects on the table and ask your child to predict which one would be heavier then ask them to put out their hands and hold the objects \u2013 compare to see which is heavier. Hint \u2013 an empty cereal box is very big and might look heavier than a jello box, but is it? \ud83d\ude0a<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Write down numbers 1 \u2013 10 on pieces of paper and put into a container.\u00a0 Ask your child to reach in without looking and pull a number \u2013 have them print that number on a piece of paper and draw that many circles. \u00a0To make it harder, ask them to write or copy the number in words on their paper.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.sd41.bc.ca\/marlborough-music\/category\/april-activities\/\">Music Teacher&#8217;s April Music Activities <\/a>\u00a0Please follow the link for our Music Teacher\u2019s April Music Activity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Watch Charlotte Diamond 4 Hugs a Day video on youtube.com and during the week, try having your child learn the song and make a dance to go along with the instructions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lI7JzSW7PJ0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Charlotte Diamond 4 Hugs a Day video<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Go for a daily walk and practice different types of movement.
