I learned many new facts about World War II through reading about Hannah&#8217;s experience and through the details of the story.  For example, I learned that children could volunteer to do work and that they were in dormitories according to their gender.  I wonder if they were separated from their parents in the ghetto and how that would feel for them?  What would it have been like as a child during the Second World War?
