Despite the rainy weather, our trip to Britannia Mine was exciting and interesting! Although I have been here a couple of times before, I always learn something new each time. For example, I did know that 8 tonnes of muck, or the equivalent of 5 cars, was carted out of the mine each day. That is a lot of muck! I clearly remember going on this same field trip when I was in grade four, just a few years after the mine closed in 1974. Of course, the museum has changed in many ways, but after all of these years, that field trip is still etched in my memory. What about you? Did you enjoy this field trip?
