REMINDER: Please send your Communication Reflections from yesterday to me ASAP. I need these written reflections from everyone for report card writing. Thank you to those students who have already sent them. I appreciate the honesty in your reflections!
ASSIGNMENT #1 – LIBRARY STORY
- Optional – build a fort to read in today. Check out these fun IKEA play fort plans. Be sure to ask your parents first! Send me a picture if you want to show your fort to the class.
- Listen to the story Plant a Kiss read by Ms. Field on the Library Blog
- Optional: choose some other stories on Epic Books or Tumblebooks so you can enjoy more time reading in your fort.
ASSIGNMENT #2 – MATH
- Today we are going to learn about mass and weight.
- We can compare the mass (how much matter is in an object) of different objects on a balance scale.
- The metric units we use to measure weight are grams (g) and kilograms (kg). In the USA, they measure weight in pounds (lbs) and ounces (oz).
Grade 2: Balance Scales to compare Mass and Units of Weight (grams and kilograms)
Grade 3: Units of Weight – gr 3-1 and Units of Weight – gr. 3-2 – pay careful attention to the numbers given not just the size of the object!
