It is my hope that all students are able to find a way to experience quality music in our community. In order to encourage this, I have put together a list of just SOME of the amazing music available in our community. Below is a list of free festivals, concerts and concert series you can visit… all located in Burnaby and neighbouring cities of Coquitlam, Vancouver, Port Moody and New Westminster.<\/span><\/div>\n

FREE FESTIVALS:+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++<\/i><\/span><\/h4>\n

\u25cf Vancouver International Jazz Festival<\/strong>‘s free stages return in 2022. Two of the biggest free outdoor presentations \u2014 Georgia Stage and Sounds of Youth Stage at the Vancouver Art Gallery (June 25 to 26) and David Lam Park (July 2 to 3) \u2014 are expected to draw massive crowds for the free shows. \u25cf Queen\u2019s Park Art Festival<\/strong>, New Westminster: The brand-new Queen\u2019s Park Arts Festival is set to run from July 6 to 10. You can enjoy live music, swing dance, poetry, new media, outdoor theatre, kids\u2019 arts and more at various times, all centred on the Queen\u2019s Park bandshell and farm.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25cf Khatsahlano Street Party<\/strong> returns to Kitsilano in Vancouver on July 9. Many bands play up and down West 4th as well as street vendors etc. More info:\u00a0https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Khatsahlano\/<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n

\u25cf Vancouver Symphony Orchestra<\/strong> returns to play live on Festival Lawn at Deer Lake Park on Saturday, July 16 at 7 pm<\/span><\/div>\n

\u25cf Children’s Artist “Music With Marnie”<\/strong> performs two free concerts at Trout Lake Park in Vancouver on July 8 and August 19. Events are free but register online. <\/span><\/div>\n

\u25cf Moody Park Daytime Series<\/strong>: Enjoy arts at Moody Park on Thursdays from 1 to 3 p.m., July 7, 14, 21 and 28.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u25cf Queen\u2019s Park Concert Series<\/strong>: Catch concerts in the park on Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m., with shows on July 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28 and 31.<\/span><\/div>\n

\u25cf Fridays on Front<\/strong>: The arts council will offer up a concert series as part of the Fridays on Front fun, running 5 to 8 p.m. on July 8, 15, 22 and 29.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
