He showed a lot of bravery and courage because when he went to the nature retreat there were these 7<sup>th<\/sup> graders who were picking on August but August didn&#8217;t care about older people picking on him. They were pushing him and making fun of him but he stood his ground and he stood his ground and he stood up for himself and Jack. After this incident Auggie\u2019s life completely changed, everyone accepted him because of the incident that happened, people thought he was really brave because he proved others wrong and stood up for himself and the others, he proved others wrong because he showed others that he can do the same things others do with a facial disorder, he might even do things better than others do.<\/p>\n<p>The quote Mr. Tushman said was, \u201cGreatness lies not in being strong but in the right use of strength. He is the greatest whose strength carries up the most hearts. He is the greatest whose heart carries the most hearts by the attraction of its own.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The award is called the Henry Ward Beecher medal. Auggie is really deserving of this award because he never gave up and he earned everyone\u2019s respect even when he gets neglected and bullied. He keeps going and he eventually found someone not because of how he looks but because of the bravery and perseverance he showed towards others.<\/p>\n<p>The way Auggie effects other people\u2019s lives is truly amazing because sometimes people without a facial disorder can\u2019t even change someone but can you imagine a guy with that kind of disorder change a bunch of people\u2019s lives in a positive way, He really does deserve this medal.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I think Auggie deserves this medal because he showed a lot of bravery and courage.
