They have thoughts and make decisions that \u201cnormal kids\u201d wouldn\u2019t have.<\/p>\n<p>For example, when Auggie was writing about the October precept, he was being very thoughtful and mature. Also, Via can make very difficult decisions and takes care of herself. She doesn\u2019t rely on other people and \u201cmarches to the beat of her own drum\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>I also think that Auggie and Via have grown up too fast. They have experienced very much. This is both good and bad because Auggie\u2019s view on the world is more mature and well thought out. This makes the story more interesting. Via seems more independent because of that which makes them a bit more likeable, intelligent, and tough.
