This is one you could play at home!<\/p>\n<p>Hide a stuffy in the room and one person does not know where that stuffy is.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone else plays instruments as they explore the room. Play softly when the person is far away from the stuffy, and get louder as they get closer. We are having a lot of fun with this game!<\/p>\n<p>We actually didn&#8217;t start the songs about inner hearing in November, so I hope to start <em>Tony Chestnut<\/em> next week. Please see the videos below.<\/p>\n<p>And we will sing\u00a0<em>Jingle Bells<\/em> as we play the\u00a0<strong>beat<\/strong> of the song on the jingle bells.<\/p>\n<p>We will also sing\u00a0<em>O Hanukkah<\/em> to practice for the sing-along on December 18th. The French immersion classes will also sing it in French.<\/p>\n<p><strong>November\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kindergarten students at Inman will be working on the concept of\u00a0<em>Inner Hearing\u00a0<\/em>in the music room. We will sing songs like <em>BINGO<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Tony Chestnut<\/em> to practice that concept.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a video of my daughter and I teaching students\u00a0<em>Tony Chestnut.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tony Chestnut\" width=\"863\" height=\"485\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nWIJ2a0MU_o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Tony Chestnut inner hearing\" width=\"863\" height=\"485\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/QQkgV5Ynqbo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We will also learn how to say rhythm syllables in music to the quarter note (tah) and eighth notes (ti-ti) and what those mean (quarter note is one sound on a beat, eighth notes are two sounds on a beat).<\/p>\n<p>We will also start the song\u00a0<em>See Saw.<\/em>This is a song we will play on the xylophones when we learn them in the new year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September and October<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Kindergartens at Inman have been working on some basic routines in the music room, and learning some songs that have to do with these concepts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>safety<\/li>\n<li>movement<\/li>\n<li>steady beat<\/li>\n<li>naming fingers<\/li>\n<li>naming body parts<\/li>\n<li>moving in lines<\/li>\n<li>moving in a circle<\/li>\n<li>using singing, talking, whisper and &#8220;calling&#8221; voices<\/li>\n<li>dancing<\/li>\n<li>listening for music cues<\/li>\n<li>echo clapping (identifying and clapping back rhythm patterns)<\/li>\n<li>echo singing (hearing then singing back correct pitches and using a singing voice)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We learned the story song of\u00a0<em>Little Bunny Foo Foo<\/em> to learn to be kind, safe, keep our hands to ourselves at school or use kind\/appropriate touch, and to sing and melody together.
