Djembe Drumming
We will be learning to play the djembe drums this term.
Here is a video showing you how to play 3 different ways on the djembe drum. The Bass, Tone and Slap.
We are starting by learning the Universal Break from West Africa – to start and stop our pieces.
We will learn how to play in a drum circle – improvising and feeling the beat to play complimentary rhythms and get a meditative feeling from drumming.

And we will be creating a piece of music together on our drums that includes composition and improvisation.
Divisions 8 and 9 will be performing a song for our Remembrance Day assembly. It’s is We Remember by Allan Crossley.
