Happy 100s Day!

We celebrated our 100th day of school! There were so many fun activities we took part in this week, we had to celebrate over multiple days. We were part of a top secret “mission” to figure out who took our class pencil sharpener, where we completed many 100s day tasks to receive a clue! We enjoyed a yummy 100s day cake, as well as a 100s day trail mix. We did two writing activities, “When I am 100 years old…” and “If I Had $100…” which you can find on our bulletin board outside of our classroom.

Self-Love Affirmations

We talked about affirmations and what they mean to us. We say them to ourselves out loud or in our heads to lift ourselves up when we are feeling in the blue zone, or need a boost of confidence. Here are the great ideas our students came up with, on “conversation hearts” for Valentine’s Day!

So Much Fun at Camp Read!

We filled our class pom pom jar and earned ourselves a Camping Party during our literacy week! We read in the dark with flashlights, built blanket forts in our classroom, and ate warm and gooey s’mores. We also got to visit our school’s book swap, thank you to all of the families who donated their pre-loved books for our students to take home!

Fire Station Field Trip

We took a nice walk to Fire Station #4 in our neighbourhood. We visited our community helpers, the firefighters, and they talked to us about fire safety and their important jobs of helping our community and keeping us safe. We got to go into the fire trucks and also slid down the pole!
