A Visit From Some Critters!

We had a visit from Mike’s Critters where he brought some amphibians (meaning they can live on land and in the water) and reptiles!

Mike brought two types of frogs, a toad, a turtle, a tortoise, two types of lizards, a skink, two types of snakes, and an alligator’s head to share with us! We learned about their habitats, what they like to eat, and their survival techniques.

Thank you Mike for bringing your critters to visit!

ADST Challenge

As part of our Applied Design, Skills and Technologies (ADST) curriculum, we have been exploring multiple challenges and creative activities that encourage us to work together and problem solve as a group. Here, we were given the task of building a “classroom” out of Lego in our small groups and had to collaboratively construct a classroom using the materials provided in the 10 minutes we were given. This taught us about sharing our ideas and how all of us have great ideas we can share with each other and develop some cool creations!

Light, Sound and Heat Energy!

We have been learning about light, sound, and heat energy! We did a big brainstorm on different sources of light, sound and heat and drew/wrote them on our large whiteboards in the classroom. We talked about the difference between natural and human made sources, and how some things can be sources of two things! For example, a campfire is a source of light and heat.
