Bar Graphs

We have been learning about different types of graphs, while also tying into our unit on “all about me”! We have learned how to represent numbers using tally marks, and now we are practicing using bar graphs to record data. It looks like our class is full of cupcake lovers!

We got an exclusive tour of a Safeway grocery store in our community as we have been learning about food and nutrition. We then walked to Confederation Park for a picnic and an afternoon filled with fun in the sun!

Butterflies!

We had some new classmates join us for the past few weeks. They went through a few stages (Egg, Larva, Pupa, Adult)  and we watched them become beautiful painted lady BUTTERFLIES! Just a few days ago, we released them into our school’s forest with Ms. Kwok’s class and it was so magical!

Sometimes Foods & Always Foods

As a part of our food and nutrition unit, we talked about “sometimes foods” and “always foods”. Always foods, also known as everyday foods,  are ones we can eat every day and include the “rainbow” fruits and vegetables, grains, meats, and dairy.  Sometimes foods are still fine to eat, but we eat them less often than our always foods. This would include items that would be higher in sugar or salt.
