Remembrance Day Virtual Assembly on Tuesday, November 10 at 10:30 a.m.

November 1, 2020

Dear Parents. Guardians, Students:

Our Remembrance Day Assembly will be a virtual one this year, with students remaining in their classes while a video of the assembly is played.  This video is a cooperative effort between South Slope and BCSD and will contain many of the traditional parts we have come to know and love such as “In Flander’s Fields” in ASL, and our candle lighting ceremony.

Students are welcome to bring a donation to the poppy fund for veterans all this week.  Please put your money in an envelope or baggie and give it to your teacher.

On Tuesday, November 10, we are asking that South Slope students wear their white tops and dark pants/skirts/tights this day as a sign of respect for all the men and women who have served our country and sacrificed their own lives so that we can continue to enjoy the many freedoms we have to this day.  Bryan Adams, a Canadian musician, wrote a song honoring the people who have received the Victoria Cross which is the highest  medal of valor given in Canada.

Thanksgiving is Coming!

Hello Everyone:

Thanksgiving is next Monday, October 12.  It just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving in Mrs. Fierro’s College of Musical Knowledge if we didn’t have my favourite song on the blog.  So, here it is….

Enjoy!

Last Chance to Submit Response Sheet or Any Other Activities Completed is June 5!

Dear South Slope Students:

I have really enjoyed all your submissions this term as we made remote learning our way to make music.  Please submit any final activities  you’ve completed to my email address by Friday, June 5.

The address again is:    teresa.jukich@burnabyschools.ca

If you looked at posts on the blog, but did not complete any activities, I would still appreciate some feedback on what activities you enjoyed.  This will help me immensely as we move forward in September!  Here is another link to the sheet.

Music Reflection – Term 3
