Hi primary people.

I hope all is well, you are safe and are getting used to our new ways of “school.”

There have been some requests to learn recorder and I think that would be a GREAT instrument to learn while at home. We were going to learn ukulele but this is definitely a good choice. I know most of you don’t have one, but here are several ways of getting one.

Go to the music store to buy it……NO NO NO! Don’t go out if you don’t have to!

Amazon sells them and delivers them so getting it mailed is the best way to get a recorder.

The kind of recorder we want to get is called: a soprano baroque recorder. There is a link to Amazon where you can order one. I don’t know if you are able to get free delivery but if there is a way to get this instrument it would be AWESOME!

Here is the link to Amazon. The Yamaha brand is the one you want to get, they make really good instruments. Don’t get the really cheap ones, they aren’t very good.

Hi all.

I thought we would start with something simple to do, name the notes on the music staff. Attached is a paper that has the notes for you to look at along with the recorder fingerings. The second document is a Word doc you can type your answers into. Be aware that not ALL the music notes are on the fingering documents to help you answer the questions on the Word doc…….you may have to do a little research on the internet to find them, or use your knowledge on how to figure out notes on the staff……remember the alphabet going forward for notes going up and going backwards for notes going down? Remember?

This assignment has a due date so make sure your return it….

The important part: You get one submission for me to look at and I will make comments and return it to you to fix if you make too many mistakes….you only get to fix this ONLY ONE TIME! The next submission will be the final one so make sure it’s the way you want it before you send it in for the last time.
