Use this phone number to speak to a nurse, dietitian, or pharmacist about your health questions.  If your child is showing any symptoms of being unwell, please call 811 to determine if your child needs to see a doctor or go for Covid testing.  If you speak another language, say the language you need once connected to the call, (eg: Chinese, Farsi, French, Korean, Punjabi, Spanish, or Vietnamese) and an interpreter will come online to help you.

Daily Health Check

It’s important to check for fever every day with a thermometer.  If your child has a fever,  keep your child at home.  Once the fever is gone and any other symptoms of illness are gone, check with 811 when it would safe to return to school.

Please ask your child these questions each day, don’t just assume that they will tell you if they are not feeling well. We want children  to feel comfortable in answering honestly if they are feeling any symptoms.

  • Do you have a cough?                                                                                            Yes or No
  • Do you have congestion?  (A stuffy nose, sore sinuses, heavy feeling in your chest, or any other sign of extra mucus).                                                                                                               Yes or No
  • Are you experiencing nausea (upset tummy or butterflies in the tummy), vomiting (throwing up) and/or diarrhea?                                                                                                                       Yes or No
  • **Do you have a runny nose or nasal drip?                                                Yes or No
    • If you do have a runny nose or nasal drip AND you have allergies, is your runny nose and nasal drip typical of your allergy symptoms?                                           Yes or No
  • ***Is anyone in your household ill?                                                                 Yes or No

If your child answers yes to any of the questions, it is important to call 811 for further information.  Students will symptoms of illness should not come to school and should seek information from a nurse at 811 about when it would be safe to return to school.
