This is Mrs. Hintersteininger’s Dream for the UHE Performing Arts Program. A full String Orchestral Program for Intermediate Students.
Orchestral Strings Program, Phase 1 (2024-2025)
● July 2024: Mrs. Hintersteininger started working on the plan for securing grant funding to launch the first phase of this program, Class Violin, with an anticipated start date of April 25, 2025. An initial total of $22,000 is needed to purchase a class set of 32 complete violin outfits (including bows, cases, and supplies)
● September 1st, 2024: Mrs. Hintersteininger applied for Grant #1, for $10,000 for half a class set of violins. We will find out January- March 2025 if we have received the grant
● Mid-November 2024: Mrs. Hintersteininger sends off MusicCounts Grant Application, for $20,000. We will find out Summer of 2025 if we have received the grant.
● On Saturday, April 5, 2025, pianist Karen Lee-Morlang and I will perform a fundraiser violin recital in support of the UHE Orchestral Strings Program. We are interested in exploring the use of the Ida Halpern grand piano in the Leslie & Gordon Diamond Family Auditorium for this performance.
● Following the successful launch of our inaugural violin class in Spring 2025, we plan to hold a Beginner Violin String Evening Celebration at the Leslie & Gordon Diamond Family Auditorium in June, 2025.
Orchestral Strings Program, Phase 2 (2025-2028)
● Between summer 2025 and summer 2026, we plan to fundraise for a class set of 32 complete cello outfits in the amount of $50,000, with an anticipated launch of our Class Cello program in September 2026.
● Between summer 2026 and summer 2028, we plan to fundraise for 6 complete viola outfits ($5,000) and 4 complete double bass outfits ($12,000). Highly capable current violin and cello students will be offered the opportunity to switch to either viola or double bass.
● By September 2028, we wish to have our complete Orchestral Strings Program running. This will consist of Grade 4 Class Violin; Grade 5 Class Cello; Full String Orchestra in Grade 6/7.
