Hello! This is a video teaching how to play the first two sections of the picking/melody part of “Carol of the Bells” on guitar. My belief is that if students want to feel safe and confident performing I need to give them multiple options of what they could do in a concert. For “Carol of the Bells” students have the option to sing, play chords on the guitar, pick the melody on the guitar, and then audition to play piano (since we only have 2 pianos), electric guitar, electric bass, and drum kit. Since some of the classes only receive 2 half hour group lessons or 2 forty minute lessons a week, and then we have pro-d days and holidays that sometime take away a block, I like posting part of lessons. I know there are always some students that practice at home. I am so grateful for those students who take ownership and practice at home. I am grateful for the students who don’t have a guitar at home, but they practice fingering and mental practice so much, that they come to class and are able to play. I am grateful for all the wonderful students that I have.
Much love and gratitude, Mrs. Hintersteininger
