Hello kids! This week I’m excited to present this really neat learning opportunity to you called Chrome Music Lab.

Check out this cool website!

The Chrome Music Lab has 13 different experiments with unique ways to play, create, and visualize sound and music. Can you figure out how each experiment works? What kinds of creative patterns and sounds can you make? Can you write your own song (or re-create one you already know)? Try some of them out!

After you’ve had a chance to check out some of the experiments, I want you to zero in on the first experiment called SongMaker. Click here for the first tutorial I’d like you to watch.

After viewing the tutorial, click on the link below for your first challenge. I’ve started a tune you all know – Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. See if you can finish it!

Challenge #1:  Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Challenge #2:  Once you’re familiar with the program, try writing your own composition. Choose an instrument and compose a 16-32 measure melody using some repetition. Add a rhythm accompaniment at the bottom. Save it, play it back, and then try to play it on an instrument if you have one at home. Don’t forget to hit SAVE before exiting the program! You can send me your composition when you’re ready…

Have fun and take care of yourselves 💕
