We wanted to share some of our learning with you from the past few weeks!
We are scientists!
We have been exploring matter through hands on experiments. We have been practicing questioning and predicting, making and recording observations, and analyzing our findings. Our experiments were painting with salt water, making oobleck, and filling a balloon by mixing vinegar and baking soda! Here is a glimpse into our experiments:
Ask us to share what we noticed and wonder following our experiments.
Butterfly Update!!!
We have been observing the butterfly life cycle in our classroom! In April, we had some caterpillars join our classroom! We watched them grow (quite quickly) and turn into chrysalides. After about a week, we began to have butterflies emerge. Once all of our butterflies had emerged, we had the chance to set them free! This was an exciting time for us!
We are readers!
We have been sharing our Reader’s Theater with our peers. We are excited to be choosing a new Reader’s Theater script this week. See our ePortfolios for videos of our previous Reader’s Theater.
We are mathematicians
We have been exploring data. We have been looking at examples of how data is organized and sharing what we notice, what we wonder, and what information is being shared with us. As a class, we have been gathering our own data and exploring the ways we can organize information to share with others.
