This week we want our families to know…
We are Citizens
We have been working hard with Ms. Brolin’s class to create something to wish Ms. Lewis well in her retirement (L.C ; C. G-M). We are very excited to share it with her next week! We do not want to spoil the surprise by posting it online, however, you can ask us about what we are working on!
This week, Ms. Brolin guided us in creating felted poppies. We wore our poppies during our Remembrance day assembly to show our respect for those who have served in the armed forces.
We are Musicians!
In Music we are working on the song Pete the Cat and It’s White Shoes. We are enjoying it, it is fun (G.M).
Heart, body, and mind
We made our very own Mood Meter that we brought home yesterday (A.W-G). We have been using our Mood Meter in our classroom and are working on recognizing and labelling emotions in ourselves and others.
This week we learned about empathy. Empathy is when we understand other people’s feelings (K. M). Empathy is understanding someone’s feelings because it happened to you like feeling hurt, sad, lonely, or excluded (A. W-G).
We are Mathematicians
We learned a new math game called Bump it Sums (A. W-G.). Each Friday, we play math games and will continue to play and learn different games that support us in building on our number sense and fluency. We hope to be able to bring these games home to share with our families!
Have a lovely weekend!
