We had a busy week this week! Some parts of our week that we would like to share with our families are…
We are artists!
This week we made shape art! We used shapes to make spooky Halloween pictures (C. G-M).
We are citizens!
We continued to work on our class charter (R.A). We have all agreed to make others in our class feel happy, loved, included, fluffy/warm, calm, and joy.
This week we also worked together to reimagine our classroom jobs for this year. We are eager to start our classroom jobs next week!
Heart, mind and body.
We have been discussing and practicing using strategies to help us feel calm (L.C.). One of the ways we are doing this is by creating a calm corner where we can pick from different strategies such as taking deep breaths, counting to 10 and using our calming glitter jar. This week students shared some of the strategies they use to help them feel calm.
Halloween
We were really excited this week for Halloween on Friday (A.W-G)! On Halloween we went for a pumpkin parade and we danced outside with the primary classes (P. M). We got to see everyone and their costumes (O.H). We made a paper story about a little witch and a little ghost (L.C). We handed out candy to our friends (A. W-G;V.K) and had some hot chocolate (R.A). Some of our classmates brought in their pumpkins from home. They all did a wonderful job! The school held a pumpkin contest and one of our classmates won!!
Some additional highlights!
We have continued to add to our Word Wall! (L.C)
Playing outside with our friends is always a highlight!
Have a lovely weekend!!
