{"id":8138,"date":"2024-03-05T12:18:44","date_gmt":"2024-03-05T20:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/gourlays\/?p=8138"},"modified":"2024-03-05T12:18:44","modified_gmt":"2024-03-05T20:18:44","slug":"the-parkcrest-view","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/gourlays\/2024\/03\/05\/the-parkcrest-view\/","title":{"rendered":"The Parkcrest View"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KVZ3__PJtgM?si=EbZFsPvp8VXFnMi0\" width=\"660\" height=\"415\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">This delightful movie was made by the children using a green screen.\u00a0 They memorized their lines, rehearsed the scenes together, and acted out their parts while demonstrating patience, perseverance and risk taking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">This project represents the learning that the children did in regards to The Big Idea of the Science curriculum; Living things have features and behaviours that help them survive in their environment<strong>.<\/strong> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The making of the movie encouraged the children to practice their oral language skills and strategies; speaking clearly while adjusting volume, pace, and tone. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">It also helped the children to learn to work respectfully and constructively with others to achieve a common goal, and explore artistic expressions of themselves through drama.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Most importantly, we had a lot of fun!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong>Please do not upload the movie to social media websites.
