Roots always grow downward.\u00a0 They take water and food from the soil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Embryo<\/strong> &#8211; The baby plant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Food Storage or Endosperm<\/strong> &#8211; feeds the embryo and helps it grow.\u00a0 It&#8217;s like the baby plant has it own backpack filled with snacks.<\/p>\n<p>We also learned that the seed needs <strong>water, sun, air, soil and space to grow. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Until it gets those things, it is <strong>dormant<\/strong> which means it is resting.\u00a0 When the seed begins to grow, it is<strong> germinating.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wow!
