That\u2019s why each year on April 22, more than a billion people celebrate Earth Day to protect the planet from things like pollution. By taking part in activities like picking up litter and planting trees, we\u2019re making our world a happier, healthier place to live.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to the book <strong>The Earth and I <\/strong>by Frank Asch &#8211; read by the author. This is a story about a friendship that a child has with the earth. They play together. They listen to each other. They care about each other. During the day, open your curtains and enjoy natural light.<\/li>\n<li>Use a reusable water bottle, and stop buying plastic disposable bottles.<\/li>\n<li>When you can, walk or ride your bike and get some exercise! Try to keep a physical distance of two metres from other people.<\/li>\n<li>Reuse scrap paper for writing notes or creating crafts.<\/li>\n<li>Recycle cans, bottles, paper, books, and even toys.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off the water when you\u2019re brushing your teeth.<\/li>\n<li>Put your computer to \u201csleep\u201d instead of leaving it on with the screensaver running.<\/li>\n<li>Use reusable food containers for your lunch.<\/li>\n<li>Borrow a book from the library \u2014 it&#8217;s a great way to reduce waste.<\/li>\n<li>Stop using disposable bags, use reusable bags.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><strong>Ask your grown up to help you try these things at home.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Complete the writing activity in the protected post.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today is Earth Day!
