What is the Big Idea?\u00a0 How does that idea thread its way through the speech?<\/li>\n<li>Introduction\u2014how are you drawing us in?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Say your speech out loud at least twice in the privacy of your room.<\/p>\n<p>The first time through, listen for and make notes to yourself about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Flow\u2014when do you feel a sense of flow, and when do you hear the flow come to a halt?<\/li>\n<li>Opportunities for precise word choice\u2014what verb is the right verb? What adjective is the right adjective? Consider what we are learning from Ursula K.
