As we begin our poetry exploration<\/strong> we are not expected to have words that rhyme or perfect patterns.\u00a0 It is after all an exploration!\u00a0 So as new writers, we begin with free verse<\/em><\/strong> poetry…”poetry<\/b>\u00a0that is\u00a0free<\/b> from limitations of regular meter or rhythm, and does not rhyme with fixed forms.” (literarydevices.net)<\/p>\n

Poetry is another form of art–it taps into our creative<\/em> thinking<\/em> skills<\/em>–we want our readers to “see<\/em>” the words as a vivid<\/strong> picture in their heads–just like a piece of art you would hang on the wall.\u00a0 So let’s use those describing words!<\/p>\n

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.\u00a0 Try your ideas–you might surprise yourself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
