{"id":1927,"date":"2016-05-12T18:54:07","date_gmt":"2016-05-13T01:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/?p=1927"},"modified":"2016-05-12T18:54:07","modified_gmt":"2016-05-13T01:54:07","slug":"taiko-drumming-presentation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/2016\/05\/12\/taiko-drumming-presentation\/","title":{"rendered":"Taiko Drumming Presentation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we had an awesome performance in the gym by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uzume.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Uzume Taiko <\/a>Drumming. \u00a0We learned a lot about the use of drums in the Japanese culture, how the drums are made, and what each drum sound is called.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/2016\/05\/12\/taiko-drumming-presentation\/drum\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1929\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-1929\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/files\/2016\/05\/drum-150x150.png\" alt=\"drum\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When asked what they had <strong>learned<\/strong>, <strong>noticed<\/strong> or <strong>liked<\/strong>\u00a0about the performance, the students had this to say:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>I learned the drums are made from barrels~Scarlett<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>I think they made cool sounds~Illiana<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Their music was very loud~Andre<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The sound was deep~Morgan<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>I recognized their costumes~Jack<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>One of the people had a mask on~Anya<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Girls from our school came to dance~Siena<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>My favourite part was the sushi song~Ella<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>The sounds moved my heart~Emily<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>I liked the sounds~Angie<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>My favourite drum is the biggest~Beau<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">A big thank you to the PAC for help with funding for these wonderful arts performances!<\/h3>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we had an awesome performance in the gym by Uzume Taiko Drumming. \u00a0We learned a lot about the use of drums in the Japanese culture, how the drums are made, and what each drum sound is called.
