{"id":1898,"date":"2016-04-30T13:54:35","date_gmt":"2016-04-30T20:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/?p=1898"},"modified":"2016-04-30T13:54:35","modified_gmt":"2016-04-30T20:54:35","slug":"the-power-of-air-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/2016\/04\/30\/the-power-of-air-and-more\/","title":{"rendered":"The Power Of Air&#8230;and More!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We continue to work on our science unit on Force and Motion. \u00a0We have done a number of different experiments&#8230;learning about gravity, push and pull on the playground, the power of air, and friction.<\/p>\n<p>I think the most popular one has been the Balloon Rockets!! \u00a0We worked in teams of <strong>three<\/strong> to create our own Balloon Rocket&#8211;and then test it out.<\/p>\n<p>Materials:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>balloon<\/li>\n<li>straw<\/li>\n<li>masking tape<\/li>\n<li>long string<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/2016\/04\/30\/the-power-of-air-and-more\/rocket1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1900\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-1900\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/files\/2016\/04\/rocket1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"rocket1\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Instructions:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>One partner holds one end of the string.<\/li>\n<li>Put the other end of the string through the straw.<a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/2016\/04\/30\/the-power-of-air-and-more\/rocket-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1899\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1899 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/files\/2016\/04\/rocket-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"rocket 2\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Pull the string tight and\u00a0have the other partner hold the other end.<\/li>\n<li>Blow up the balloon (but don\u2019t tie it.) Pinch the end of the balloon and tape the balloon to the straw.
