{"id":1688,"date":"2016-01-17T09:53:21","date_gmt":"2016-01-17T17:53:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/?p=1688"},"modified":"2016-01-17T09:53:21","modified_gmt":"2016-01-17T17:53:21","slug":"role-playing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/2016\/01\/17\/role-playing\/","title":{"rendered":"Role Playing&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/files\/2016\/01\/puppets.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1689 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/files\/2016\/01\/puppets-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"puppets\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>\u00a0In drama this week we have begun to use puppets to role play problem solving situations. \u00a0We have focussed on problems that happen outside at recess and lunch so far.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Some of the problems we have practiced solving include:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>asking someone to share equipment or take turns (the swings)<\/li>\n<li>what to do if you see someone bullying a friend (calling someone names)<\/li>\n<li>how and when to ask a teacher for help<\/li>\n<li>what to do if someone takes something from you that you had or were playing with (trick you to get off the swing)<\/li>\n<li>how to tell your friends &#8216;no&#8217; when they want you to break the rules with them (going behind the school for K&#8217;s)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>What are the <strong>learning outcomes<\/strong> we are working on?<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">DRAMA:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>work in role to imagine and play characters from stories or real life events<\/li>\n<li>explore situations in <a href=\"#gloss3\">role<\/a>, including who, what, where, and with whom<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HEALTH &amp; CAREER:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>list situations where common interpersonal conflicts can arise (e.g., sharing, teasing, pushing, choosing an activity, taking turns, lining up)<\/li>\n<li>identify one or more possible solutions to specific interpersonal problems (e.g., taking turns, taking a break, communicating clearly about needs and wants, going to an adult or third party for help)<\/li>\n<li>describe which solution they think works the best for them in a specific situation, and explain why<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We will continue to work on solving problems\u00a0in drama! \u00a0Ask us how\u00a0we are doing&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0In drama this week we have begun to use puppets to role play problem solving situations. \u00a0We have focussed on problems that happen outside at recess and lunch so far.
