Hawaii"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>In case your child hasn&#8217;t told you&#8230;we have flown to Hawaii in class!! \u00a0We have been learning about all things Hawaiian!<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ve learned some Hawaiian words for different body parts:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">mouth: waha \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0eye: maka<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">teeth: niho \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0nose: ihu<\/p>\n<p>As well as learning that their alphabet has only 17 letters instead of 26 like ours does. \u00a0(A, B, D, E, H, I, K, L, M, N, O, P, R, T, U, V, W)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We&#8217;ve read some books about volcanoes and made a web full of facts about volcanoes\u00a0including some\u00a0new vocabulary we have learned&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0lava, crater, eruption, &amp; dormant to name a few&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Today we\u00a0started learning a little bit (emphasis on <em>little bit)\u00a0<\/em>of Hula dancing during our gym time&#8230;We&#8217;re using the songs <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Tiny Bubbles<\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pearly Shells<\/span> and it&#8217;s lots of fun!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">We\u00a0have also started an ocean animal research project. \u00a0So far, we have &#8216;webbed&#8217; (graphic organizer) all the information we already knew and could find in the books from the library about our five animals&#8230;Thanks to Mrs. Safarik&#8217;s class for helping us with the writing!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Sea Turtle<\/li>\n<li>Octopus<\/li>\n<li>Dolphin<\/li>\n<li>Shark<\/li>\n<li>Sea Star<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[metaslider id=1679]<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow we will choose which animal we want to report on. \u00a0We look forward to\u00a0recording the information we have learned into an animal report&#8230;watch for it&#8230;coming home before the break!<\/p>\n<p>We love science!!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/files\/2013\/11\/OK-happy-face_full.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-116 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/files\/2013\/11\/OK-happy-face_full-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"OK happy face_full\" width=\"101\" height=\"101\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In case your child hasn&#8217;t told you&#8230;we have flown to Hawaii in class!! \u00a0We have been learning about all things Hawaiian!
