{"id":1394,"date":"2015-02-05T16:00:58","date_gmt":"2015-02-06T00:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/?p=1394"},"modified":"2015-02-05T22:13:22","modified_gmt":"2015-02-06T06:13:22","slug":"games-choices","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sd41blogs.ca\/fischerj\/2015\/02\/05\/games-choices\/","title":{"rendered":"Games &#038; Choices"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Oral Language development is an important part of early literacy fluency. \u00a0There are many ways that we develop our skills in this area. \u00a0In Division 9, a\u00a0significant\u00a0part of our Games &amp; Choices time is our sharing circle&#8211;which is entirely oral language driven. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">We have two sharing circles each day. \u00a0In our first\u00a0circle (prior to Games &amp; Choices), 2-3 students share their plan for that day&#8217;s \u00a0play. \u00a0We listen as a respectful audience-using our whole body, then ask questions and provide comments to each student to gather more information, make suggestions, or just discuss their ideas. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Our second circle is at the end of our Games &amp; Choices time. \u00a0Once again, we have 2-3 students share what they did that day. \u00a0Sometimes they show something they have made or worked on, and they also have an opportunity to get feedback in the form of questions or comments from their classmates. \u00a0We have all become very good at this, and are now moving on&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'comic sans ms', sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Today was our first opportunity to record our play using writing!
