On January 6th we planted an Amaryllis bulb as part of our unit on Life Science<\/strong><\/span>. \u00a0Today we had our second science lesson with our\u00a0Amaryllis. \u00a0It was Day 9 of our experiment.<\/p>\n

Here\u00a0are the ‘scientific steps’ we follow:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

I wonder<\/strong>,\u00a0how much has it grown?<\/p><\/div>\n

We began with our question: “How much has it grown?”. \u00a0We made estimates based on our visual observations. \u00a0Some of us thought it had grown 10cm<\/strong>, some thought 5cm<\/strong>, and some thought 2cm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In order to find out we decided:<\/p>\n

I try<\/strong> out our idea<\/p><\/div>\n

So we did!<\/p>\n

Our next step is to record what we have observed.<\/p>\n

We have a class chart to keep track of how it is growing. \u00a0We also each have an Amaryllis Log Book where we keep track of what is happening with our plant–along with all the things we are learning about plants in general.<\/p>\n

As scientists, we use captions, diagrams and labels to provide\u00a0information. \u00a0Here are some samples of our observations:<\/p>\n
