Important Valentine’s Day Info

Hi All,

Here is a little update regarding Valentine’s Day. Ms. Yamamoto sent out some information below:

“For Valentine’s day, classroom teachers will be working with students in class to celebrate friendship. Due to our health and safety rules, we remind all parents that we cannot share or hand out any food (chocolates, candy or other treats) or Valentine cards from home. Your child’s teacher will let you know how they will be celebrating Valentine’s day in the classroom.”

Due to Covid-19, we are not allowed to bring any candies, chocolates or cards to school. Instead we will be creating Valentine Cards at school on Friday February 12th.

Thank you for understanding!

Teams Assignment #1

Hi Div. 15 Families,
I hope you have been able to access Microsoft Teams (see email sent about it on Nov. 4th). It’s really important to access this in the case we go to remote learning. But also to learn more about your child’s learning at school. It’s also so important to learn how to upload work onto Microsoft Teams – so this weekend could you please do the following assignment with your child:ย Take a walk to a space/place in your community that you enjoy – take one picture in this space and upload it under your child’s channel. Write a comment about how you felt in this space.ย ย
I would really appreciate it if you could please do this by Tuesday, November 23rd.
Kindly,
Ms. Daychief

Getting To Know Teams

Hi Everyone,

I recently sent out an email about your child’s TEAMS account. We are going to be using it as our online learning platform, in addition to this blog. Please take some time to get familiar with Teams. On Teams, I have left some instructions for a practice activity. There will be more pictures and work posted in the next few days. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you have any concerns or questions, please email me or come talk to me before or after school! ๐Ÿ™‚

Updates – Halloween

Happy Friday Friends!

I have some updates:

There was an error in our library information and we actually get library every week on Wednesday! YAY!

It is nearing the end of October which means Halloween! These are Maywood’s rules about Halloween this year, and during the pandemic:

“Costumes should not portray any negative stereotypes or hurt someoneโ€™s feelings. Costumes should not be too scary and should not have weapons! Masks will only be worn during specific times in class. Your child must be able to work and play in their costume as they will be wearing it all day. Unfortunately, there will be no treats from home due to Covid-19.”ย  Thanks for you understanding!

And lastly, I just wanted to remind everyone that our school and our classroom is nut free! Please remember not to pack any kind of nuts in student’s lunches due to nut allergies in the school. Thank you so much in advance!

See you all on Monday!

Kindly,

Ms. Daychief
