🧠 A Special Visitor \u2013 Kiara!<\/strong><\/span>
\"SpecialThis week, we had a lovely visit from Kiara, who shared all about her journey as a young adult in the education system. She told us she\u2019s almost finished university 🎓 and is working part-time, all while dreaming of becoming a teacher one day! It was so cool hearing your thoughtful questions and seeing how interested you were in her story.<\/span><\/p>\n

🎯 Education & Career Chats<\/strong><\/span>
Following Kiara\u2019s visit, we dove into some exciting conversations about education pathways<\/em> in Canada. You explored everything from elementary school to university and beyond! Then we connected that learning to careers \u2014 and discovered what education is needed for different jobs. You even got to pick your favorites! 💼<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, it\u2019s time to take it a step further… Over the next few weeks, you\u2019ll be choosing one career that truly<\/em> interests you and doing some research on it. I can\u2019t wait to see what you choose! Your small group discussions this week were so fun to listen to \u2014 so many great ideas and lively chats. 🗣️💡<\/span><\/p>\n

📖 Novel Study News<\/strong><\/span>
\"OutIn our novel study, we met so many<\/em> new characters this week! Melody\u2019s \u201cspecial\u201d class is full of unique personalities, and we got to hear her thoughts about each of them. We also met Mrs. V, a kind and helpful neighbor who plays a big role in helping Melody communicate. What an amazing character! ❤️<\/span><\/p>\n

🕵️‍♀️ Word Detectives on the Case!<\/strong><\/span>
\"DetectiveWe also started a vocabulary book that helps us dive deeper into the new words we find in each chapter. You\u2019ve all been amazing word detectives<\/em>\u2014solving meanings, breaking down tricky words, and building your vocabulary! 🔍📘<\/span><\/p>\n

➕ Awesome Algebra Adventures<\/strong><\/span>
\"AlgebraAlgebra quiz? ✔️ DONE and DONE! You all rocked it! From solving for missing numbers to using pictures and stories to find answers \u2014 you\u2019ve shown incredible progress. I\u2019m so proud of how hard you\u2019ve been working on this. 🎉✏️\u00a0 On Thursday you received Mrs. Davis’ feedback on your petting zoo project.\u00a0 Each zoo was unique and followed the outlined criteria very well.\u00a0 We’re going to keep these at school until Student Led Conferences on May 6th.\u00a0 That way parents can take a browse through those projects too! \"PrintableOur final task connected to this project was a quiz!\u00a0 The petting zoo project started out as a math project focusing on area and perimeter… which is what the quiz tested.\u00a0 Most of you showed solid understanding of these concepts and did very well on the assessment check in!\u00a0 Yay!!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"DownloadOur Africa research is well underway!\u00a0 We are so impressed with how\u00a0 you have been using your time at home to discover more about the topics you chose to research.\u00a0 \"AfricaOver the weekend, you have the option to continue researching, but you can take a break too. Next week Mrs. Davis is covering Mrs. Gil’s days so we will have a few more opportunities to complete our research then.<\/p>\n

Keep those creative ideas flowing as you narrow down your career choices. You\u2019ll have time to research, explore, and maybe even be inspired by people around you (just like Kiara!).<\/span><\/p>\n
