We had an exciting and productive week filled with all kinds of literacy-focused activities and learning adventures. Here’s a look at what we accomplished:<\/p>\n

Literacy Fun<\/h4>\n

We kicked off the week with a school wide trivia game<\/strong>\u00a0about all sorts of books. Thanks to our diverse reading interests, we managed to answer\u00a0ALL the questions<\/strong>\u00a0correctly! It was a fantastic way to celebrate our love for reading.<\/p>\n

Next, we teamed up with our buddies to solve\u00a012 Rebus puzzles<\/strong>. \"RebusThese were quite challenging, but with focus and determination, we cracked them all. Ms. Di Spirito and Mrs. Gil were super impressed with how well everyone worked together. Sharing your responses together and solving problems really seemed to get your little buddies excited.<\/p>\n

Science Exploration<\/h4>\n

We wrapped up our unit on the\u00a0Earth, Sun, and Moon<\/strong> concepts by taking our first Science Test of the year. On Monday, we made a study prep list and discussed potential test questions. Tuesday was dedicated to studying with peers, using flashcards and note-taking to prepare. \"ROCKSGreat job, everyone! Looking ahead, our next unit will focus on\u00a0rocks and minerals<\/strong>. We’ll learn how they are made and how they are used here on Earth.<\/p>\n

Math Adventures<\/h4>\n

In Math, we continued our work on\u00a0multiplication and division<\/strong>. This week, we focused on reading word problems and deciding when to use multiplication or division. We also revisited our fact families, remembering that multiplication and division are opposites. \"FreeMany of you are realizing the importance of memorizing your times tables up to 10\u2014it really makes the work easier!Next week, we’ll move on to\u00a02 and 3 by 1 digit multiplication and division<\/strong>. Keep practicing those times tables!<\/p>\n

Something to really think about is how you can practice this skill at home. Can your parents help you? Maybe you could:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Create or buy flashcards with multiplication problems\"Free on one side and answers on the other. Regular practice with these can help reinforce memorization.<\/span><\/h3>\n

2. Find\u00a0online games and apps designed to make multiplication practice fun. Games like “Times Table Rockstars” or “Math Bingo” can be both educational and entertaining.<\/span><\/h3>\n

\"Our3. Incorporate multiplication practice into daily routines. For example, Maybe your parents can ask you to solve a few multiplication problems while setting the table or during a car ride? XTra Math anyone?<\/span><\/h3>\n

4. Find worksheets and printables for extra practice. Many websites offer free resources that you can print out and use at home.<\/span><\/h3>\n

By incorporating these strategies, you and your parents can make multiplication practice a positive and productive experience for you. Happy practicing! 😊<\/p>\n

Literacy<\/h4>\n

We started a new paragraph about life without cell phones<\/strong>. Working in pairs, we brainstormed the good and bad consequences of not having cell phones or tablets. We began refining our topics and planning our paragraphs, which we’ll draft and edit next week.<\/p>\n

\"3,209Digital Literacy<\/h4>\n

Digital literacy means knowing how to use technology like computers, tablets, and smartphones safely and smartly. It includes finding good information online, keeping personal details private, being kind when talking to others, and creating and sharing content responsibly. It also means understanding that everything you do online leaves a trace, called a digital footprint. Being digitally literate helps you learn new things, stay connected with friends and family, and stay safe while having fun online. \"FactThis weekend, you have an online assignment to complete about Current Events. The idea is that you are going to be able to tell the difference between a Fact-based article and an Opinion-based one. Share your findings with someone in your household. I am sure they want to “hear all about it!”<\/p>\n
