    Father’s day is coming up this weekend! So, this week’s literacy assignment is focusing on dad. Dad’s, please keep your eyes closed on this section! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

    It is based off of an Adrienne Gear’s lesson.<\/p>\n

    The assignment is based off of the book with the poem:<\/p>\n

    We will be focusing on triple-scoop-words. You may remember when we created triple-scoop words that were synonyms (same meaning, different word) of single-scoop words such as hot, small, happy, good, cold, sad, mad, big.<\/p>\n

    Our poem will focus on your Dad or a special grown-up in your life.<\/p>\n

    As you know, we usually have “Tea with Ms. D” at the end of the term to have a chat and reflect on your term. Unfortunately, that is not possible during this term. Instead, I would like you to complete the following reflection on your term:<\/p>\n

    This is a mandatory assignment that will be part of your progress report for the term. Please complete by the end of the week (or sooner — sooner is better for this one :))<\/p>\n

    d.) Project for *you know who* *<\/h2>\n

    During Office Hours and Sharing Circle last week, we talked about a secret project we have for *you know who*. Please refer to MS Teams “Assignments” to find out what I am talking about. This is due ASAP. Please ask me or a friend in the class if you are confused about what I am talking about.<\/p>\n

    Please continue your math program.

    Continue your Genius Hour project. You may want to focus on your \u201cweird animal\u201d this week.\u00a0 This is an ongoing project. If you have completed it or are just starting, here is the planning sheet to start a new inquiry:\u00a0Genius Hour Planning Sheet<\/a><\/p>\n

    Follow these steps:
    \nBrainstorm<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 what topics interest you? Write down topics that interest you (e.g. birds, palm trees, global warming, Jupiter, etc\u2026). Select one to focus on this week.<\/p>\n

    Question<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 What\u00a0deep<\/strong>\u00a0questions do you wish to explore on your topic? (e.g. how do birds fly?)<\/p>\n

    Research<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 How are you going to find answers to your questions? With limited variety of resources, it will likely be online or an interview with an \u201cexpert\u201d on the topic (perhaps family\/friends).<\/p>\n

    Present<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 How are you going to share your knowledge? Please come up with a a way to briefly present your project. This may be through a speech, slideshow, poster, poem, comic, video, song, etc.<\/p>\n

    Share<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Practice your presentation and share \u2014 either to me, family\/friends, to the class during Sharing Circle.<\/p>\n
