    While we don’t have the luxury of the library to help us with our book selection, there are plenty of online libraries available. If you have books at home, please choose one from home to read or re-read.

    \n\u2022 What do you think the writer would like you to think about?<\/p>\n

    You may record your thoughts in writing (on paper or in a document) or a recorded voice\/video note.<\/p>\n

    c.) Letter to your Little Buddy *<\/h2>\n

    Ms. Raymond and I were thinking it would be really nice to stay connected to our buddies. Please work on a letter (and drawing\/art) for your buddy.
    \nPlease send a picture of your note and art to me by Friday May 15th <\/span><\/strong>so we can send them to our buddies for next week. They will also be writing you letters this week \ud83d\ude42<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

    This week, I would like you to work on a homemade instruments. They can come in all different sizes and types \u2014 from wood drums to coffee can shakers, to wind chimes to xylophones. Find objects and sounds around your home to experiment with different ways to make noise. Record the different types of sounds you can create.<\/p>\n

    Continue your Genius Hour project.\u00a0 This is an ongoing project. If you have completed it or are just starting, here is the planning sheet to start a new inquiry:Genius Hour Planning Sheet<\/a><\/p>\n

    Follow these steps:
    \nBrainstorm<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 what topics interest you? Write down topics that interest you (e.g. birds, palm trees, global warming, Jupiter, etc\u2026). Select one to focus on this week.<\/p>\n

    Question<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 What\u00a0deep<\/strong>\u00a0questions do you wish to explore on your topic? (e.g. how do birds fly?)<\/p>\n

    Research<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 How are you going to find answers to your questions? With limited variety of resources, it will likely be online or an interview with an \u201cexpert\u201d on the topic (perhaps family\/friends).<\/p>\n

    Present<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 How are you going to share your knowledge? Please come up with a a way to briefly present your project. This may be through a speech, slideshow, poster, poem, comic, video, song, etc.<\/p>\n

    Share<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Practice your presentation and share \u2014 either to me, family\/friends, to the class during Sharing Circle.<\/p>\n
