It was lovely to see your &#8220;outside my window&#8221; art projects, architecture projects and read your mystery stories. I will continue to read them throughout the week.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your continued support, patience and compassion throughout this learning journey. I feel very lucky and consistently blown away to have a class full of such kind and caring families. Your kindness is much appreciated!! We are all brand to online teaching and learning. As teachers, we are trying our best meet the very broad needs of each family and adjust our teaching programs accordingly. As learners, you are trying your best to navigate the new technologies and way of learning. Thank you learners for expressing perks and challenges as it helps me make adjustments to the learning program.<\/p>\n<p>You may notice changes to the program each week. Video Conferencing<\/h1>\n<p>I would like to make an attempt at holding &#8220;office hours&#8221; for our class. This is a time that I can answer or clarify any questions you may have on assignments and expectations. The first one will be<strong> today at 11 am.\u00a0<\/strong>I will also hold on on <strong>Wednesday<\/strong> at <strong>11 am<\/strong> as well if you have any more questions by then. We also have our &#8220;Sharing Circle&#8221; on Friday at 11am. Assignment Submission<\/h1>\n<p>There are three ways to submit work to me:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Microsoft Teams (<strong>preferred<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li>FreshGrade<\/li>\n<li>Email<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <strong>preferred<\/strong> way to hand in your assignments is through <strong>Microsoft Teams<\/strong> (in the &#8220;assignments&#8221; section). I understand that this may be a challenge to some students who have a tablet and are hand-writing their assignments. If this is the case, please submit your work through FreshGrade (student app) &#8212; the simple interface allows students to independently take and send photos. If you are having trouble with Microsoft Teams or FreshGrade, please feel free to email me.<\/p>\n<h1>3. Literacy &#8211; plan<\/h2>\n<p>This week our writing assignment is called &#8220;And the moral of the story is&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>You will be writing a fable with a moral.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a moral?<\/strong><br \/>\nA moral is a lesson or a message for the reader.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is a fable?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A short story written to teach the reader a moral or lesson about life<\/li>\n<li>Features animal characters (usually two) who act and talk like humans<\/li>\n<li>Follows a climbing story structure, with a problem-solution format, beginning, middle and end<\/li>\n<li>Usually includes dialogue (characters speak to each other)<\/li>\n<li>Often has a first sentence that establishes the character and setting quickly and clearly (eg. <em>One day, a hungry fox sat waiting by the roadside.<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>Please view the following fables by Aesop. What does the writer want you to know? Math\/art<br \/>\n<em>This will be at your own pace, please complete each bullet-point<\/em><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Map Your Home<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Please note: you may decide to create a layout of an imaginary home<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Draw your home layout from a \u201cbird\u2019s-eye-view\u201d (looking from above). What shape does it take? ***Please use a ruler when possible***<\/li>\n<li>Label your rooms<\/li>\n<li>Include furniture (remember to draw it like you\u2019re looking at from the ceiling)<\/li>\n<li>Use estimation\u2014for example, how much of that wall is taken up by that dresser? Half the wall?
