Offline Life

It feels like most of my time is spent on a screen these days. If I’m not on my laptop deep-diving in online resources, scoping out plans for lessons, or answering emails, I’m on my phone comparing notes with other primary teachers across the continent, asking questions and looking for ideas and inspiration on how to make this learning accessible and interesting.

My free time used to be when I got to watch TV but…somehow, looking at AN EVEN BIGGER screen just isn’t as appealing, so I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately! I’ve been exploring some interesting philosophy and sociocultural texts, and revisiting some old English Lit classics I haven’t read in many years. I just got a book on plants! I’ve never been a big gardener, but our current situation has given me a bit of a newfound appreciation for the pretty plants close to me.

I hope you are taking a little bit of time to unplug, too. I think we are all feeling anxious and stressed, and I hope that this blog will be a supportive place of learning for those online-moments. Speaking of online moments, I would like to share this video, as a de-stress tool for you and your student(s)! Enjoy!
