BLAST OFF BOOK REPORTS TEMPLATE

  Mr. Marvelous by Dalia

Blast Off Book Report submitted by Leandros.

Friday sample from Dalia (Roll the dice and write the words – each time we hear the word selected read, we jump and do a tally) At the end, you can see which word was frequently said.  Make a sentence with the words if you are in Grade One.

We can continue to do Blast Off Book Reports. The children absolutely love this segment. After reading a story book. Your child can choose different ways to respond to the story.

Note Gr. 1: Word attack strategies, such as chunking, backtracking & rereading, help students decipher unknown or unfamiliar word. Reading strategies, such as predicting, looking at pictures, sounding out words, skip unknown words may help students develop their comprehension skills.

Monday – Draw a picture.

Tuesday – Draw your favourite part.

Wednesday – Draw a personal connection.

Thursday – Draw a reading connection between books.

Friday – Copy or write words from the book.  (See a sample of previous books that have been sent home).

Children have learned how to write a title and are familiar with drawing a picture to show their favourite part.
