Oct 10: Went over AMC contest<\/a> and started Math 9 Ch 2.1 and 2.2 Notes<\/a><\/p>\n

Oct 15:  Finished Ch 2.3 Notes on Order of Operations with Powers<\/a>.  Here are answers to the Math 9 Chapter 2 textbook.<\/a><\/p>\n

Oct 17: Ch 2.4 Notes on Exponent Laws.<\/a>  We went over the Ch 3 Pythagorean test and had an the 1.5 Exponent Laws WS and 1.8 Working With Exponents WS for homework.  Quiz next class!<\/p>\n

Oct 21: We did the quiz and assigned the AMC 8 2016 contest for homework.<\/p>\n

Oct 23: Ch 2.5 Exponent Laws part 2 and Scientific Notation Notes<\/a><\/p>\n

Oct 28: We went over the homework from the WS: Powers of Monomials and Scientific Notation.  Homework is the chapter review.<\/p>\n

Oct 30: Short class! We went over homework questions and assigned the Extra Practice 9 and 10 for homework.<\/p>\n

Nov 1:  This is it!  We went over the homework<\/a> and then did a review for the test<\/a> next class.  Get ready!  Also, you will need to hand in your homework assignments (see the list here<\/a>) next class.<\/p>\n

Nov 5 – We did the Powers Test.  Homework is the AMC contest!<\/p>\n

Nov 7 – We went over the two AMC contests<\/a>, and assigned the 2018 AMC 8 and 2017 AMC 8 contest for you to do from the Art of Problem Solving Website.  Check the answers as you do them!  Be ready for Tuesday’s contest in the library.  Be there at 8:40am!<\/p>\n

Exponent Laws Notes<\/a>.  Homework is P66 #5, 8ace, 10ace, 11, 15, 16ace, 22, 26 and Extra Practice 9 Worksheet #5, Extra Practice 10 Worksheet #2, and P76 #4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13, 15 (odd letters for these questions).  Maybe a Quiz next class?<\/p>\n

Exponent Laws II Notes.<\/a>  Homework is P84 #4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 14, 16 odd letters and EP 9 #6, 7.  Quiz next class!<\/p>\n

We marked homework, reviewed, and did the quiz.  Homework is the AMC contest I gave you.  Have a nice long  long long weekend!<\/p>\n

Answers to AMC, and a list of homework<\/a> due in two classes, because a large group of you will be away next class.<\/p>\n

Went over AMC, handed back tests and progress reports, and reviewed Integers<\/a>.  Please remember to get them signed by your parents and return them next class.  If they have any questions or comments for me, they can write it on the back.<\/p>\n

We reviewed for the test with the “I have, Who has Exponents” activity, went over the answers to the homework.<\/p>\n

Ch 2 Powers Test part 1 (regular, no calculators).  Homework is the AMC 8 contest.<\/p>\n

Notes on numbers in different base systems<\/a>.  Take some time to study it!  It will be on part 2 of the Powers test next class.  Homework is the Bases Stretch.<\/p>\n
