Tuesday June 9
I am at Suncrest today so I won’t be able to answer answers really quickly. Please continue to post questions in the QUESTIONS only chat channel on Teams.
Here are the learning opportunities today:
We are going to start off with something special for someone special (I don’t want to make it obvious in case she checks the class blog) Full assignment details are on Teams. It’s fairly simple. All you have to do is draw a picture and write one sentence to go with it.
For math, we will continue on Math IXL.
- Grade 4’s: Q9: You will be learning about volume.
- Key point: Volume is the amount of space inside a shape. For example, calculating the amount of water in a cup is calculating its volume.
- No video tutorial
- Grade 5’s: Z9: Surface area.
- Key point: Break your 3D shape into 2D (flat) nets.
- How many faces does the 3D shape have?
- Measure the surface area of each face
- Add the surface area of all the faces together
- Video tutorial: https://youtu.be/vl1uMOYFyf4

For ELA, you will be learning about the pensee poem. You will write two poems. Remember to read through the rules carefully! They are pretty particular, so review them twice before you begin. Full assignment details on Teams.
