What’s Happening

Hi everyone! Welcome to a new school year. I’m excited to learn alongside your children as we navigate the year ahead. Please welcome Ms. Chetty to our class. She will be in the room on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
I will do my best to update this site but if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out.

Thanks!

Update

Hi everyone. This past week was very busy and inconsistent for you. Unfortunately, I am having to spend more time in the office, meaning less time with all of you. This is temporary and things will get back to normal soon. In the meantime, you still have school work to do and Ms. Rodriguez is still with you. Please be patient and kind. I am just down in the office if you need to speak with me 🙂

The Week of Nov. 8-12

I hope everyone stayed dry this weekend! We have been working on being present and paying attention to our surroundings. Recently, we have discussed making conscious decisions and purposeful choices. Next week, you can look for an Interim report that will outline progress in Literacy and Numeracy as well as engagement and behaviour.

In the meantime, this upcoming week looks like this:

Monday – National Indigenous Veterans Day – we will be watching a short video to commemorate
– we have gym – please have gym shoes

Tuesday – Library day – remember your books

Wednesday – Remembrance Day assembly – see school website for Zoom link
– PAC meeting – all welcome – 6:30 – see school website for Zoom link

Thursday – Remembrance Day – no school

Friday – we have gym – please remember your gym shoes

Other reminders –
– all forms (verification, emergency, etc.) should now be in to the office
– proper attire for these wet, blustery days should be worn to school
– ‘inside shoes’ are encouraged when boots are worn to school

Finally…thank you all very much for paying the extra supplies fee. We have already put it to good use.

PJ Day!

Hopefully you had a fun Halloween and you didn’t stay up too late. Good thing you can wear your PJ’s on Monday! Be sure to wear (or bring) proper shoes to participate in gym. Remember to bring your library books on Tuesday.

We’ve been working on procedure (how to) writing and relating multiplying with dividing. Also, we are paying attention to our surroundings and using our manners.

Next week is a bit more eventful. Stay tuned.

See you soon…

October 25-29

Hi everyone! I hope you had a restful weekend. Just a couple of reminders for this week:

– Remember your library book on Tuesday so you can renew…or return and borrow. Hopefully you are borrowing chapter books for silent reading time 🙂

– Remember your recorder for Music on Wednesday. I know you have all practiced hard for Ms. Lui.

– Remember your costume on Friday. Be sure to leave costume weapons at home. You have the choice of wearing it all day or just the afternoon. Of course, you have the choice to not wear one too.

– Families, there will be an assembly on Friday afternoon. Look for the Zoom link on the school’s website.

Unfortunately, once again, we are unable to share food. But, your teachers will be sure to have a little treat for each of you (individually wrapped of course…and peanut free)

Until next time…

Mrs. Armstrong

October 18-22

Time is flying by too fast. Here I am on a Monday trying to update you about the week. Well, here goes…
Monday – done! See you Tuesday
Tuesday – library day – return or renew your books
Wednesday – there will be a TOC in the room so that Mrs. Armstrong and Ms. Rodriguez can attend all-day meetings
Thursday – there will be a TOC in the room again for the same reason as Wednesday
Friday – Pro-d – no school for students. Teachers will be attending various workshops

Please discuss with your child the importance of treating guest teachers with the same respect they afford us everyday. We choose kindness first and always use our manners.

Reminders:
– the PAC is still collecting money for Health and Safety. Yellow notices went home with a small envelope attached. Please let me know if you need one.
– Student verification forms – please complete those as soon as possible and return to school

Thanks for reading 🙂

Welcome Back!

Well, it’s the first day of Fall so I figured it was about time I updated my website. We are off to a great start. We are remembering our expectations and trying our best to get back into a routine. Hopefully, we can all continue to stay safe and get ourselves on the other side of this pandemic.

We Remember

I hope everyone is able to take a moment and remember the brave souls that made sacrifices for our freedoms. Take care, stay safe and remember.
